Language Arts: Reading, Writing and Building Words!
First Grade Language Arts Program
We use effective instructional procedures and the latest in literacy thinking. We identify the instructional and independent reading levels of all students and document student progress through one-on-one formative and summative assessments. Children become increasingly aware of language when experiences are made meaningful, enjoyable and interesting. In first grade children begin to gain an appreciation of literature, start becoming independent writers, and enjoy improving their ability to express their ideas both orally and in writing.
